>>>I thought that in order to make such a claim, you must be out of the company 30 days prior to the end of the year. This brings us to December 2nd as the last day to sell.<<<<

Correct! This is something that many people can't understand on different threads. Many lurkers assume tax loss selling continues until Dec 31st. Wrong! Many people I know have already completed theie tax loss selling. Getting back to the above note, Dec 2nd is last settlement day, therefore on a cash account, the last day is next Friday. Seven more days of trading.. Just thought I add more to your note.

I believe you can't by back before 30 days if you want the loss! So you have to sell around Dec23 for this year. Usually Dec 9 forward, the stock starts to rebound from TLS and end of month clearing!!!
