Dear Jim: The Meguairs Glaze is "the Professional Show Car Glaze #7". I also waxed by hand for at least 20 years but about a year ago purchased an orbital buffer. Really makes a difference. I was surprised to learn the OB is used to APPLY the product not to remove it. Removing still done by hand using soft terrycloth towel (thicker the better) . This stops the swirl marks which you will get with the OB. Here is my routine. First wash the vehicle, then I use a product such as Meguairs Cleaner Wax applying by OB and removing by hand. Then I use the relatively new Meguairs Gold Class Clear Coat Car Wax apply with OB and removing by hand. In each case I allow it to set up for about 30 minutes. Really creates an in depth shine. The gold class product is REALLY reflective. In between all of this I use the Meguairs "Quik Detailer" which maintains the gloss for a long time. The good news about the Gold Class Products is that they dry clear so if you get any on the trim etc. doesnt show.
However, when I came back from vacation, after driving 9,000 miles I was too tired to wax the vehicle. I took it to a good detailing shop here in town and they used a product they claimed was a Teflon Finish. They use it in their own bottles so have no idea who makes the product etc etc. Anyhow, I have to admit it did a really great job. No swirl marks (yet they applied and removed with an OB) and great depth. Do you know anything about this product? If I could find it I would buy it. JDN
