"Even though Microsoft is always able to find some quisling to break ranks, if the rest of the industry stays firm in backing open standards like Symbian and Bluetooth maybe we'll get a situation where wireless manufacturers will not be chained to Bill."

You never take a break, do you?

Bluetooth demo prototypes only

The demonstration at Comdex is using prototypes only, as the standard isn't finalized. When Bluetooth was launched many months back, each founding member demonstrated products incorporating prototypes, e.g., Ericsson demonstrated it between a mobile phone and headset.

When it is finalized Nokia may well be the first to market, it may be more interesting to know what it will connect with though.
