Looks like we have a number of etymologists on this thread:

One of the Malay words is parang (definitely useful for running amok!). From the Webster:

Main Entry: pa·rang
Pronunciation: 'pär-"a[ng]
Function: noun
Etymology: Malay
Date: 1839
: a short sword, cleaver, or machete common in Malaysia and Indonesia

Another can be:

Main Entry: sa·rong
Pronunciation: s&-'ro[ng], -'rä[ng]
Function: noun
Etymology: Malay
Date: 1830
: a loose garment made of a long strip of cloth wrapped around the body that is worn as a skirt or dress by men and
women chiefly of the Malay Archipelago and the Pacific islands

Jerard, since this is sans beer, maybe a bottle of Dom Perignon would suffice, oui <gg>?

Best,
Steve
