Big whip, Reggie. The unwashed masses share your extensive and objective knowledge of the wonder and glory of Microsoft. None of them have ever had the experience of an OS that sucks less, so they're still enthralled by the integrity and uniformity of the Windows experience. Half of the PC users among them have never installed a software package. How can Microsoft lose in the marketplace when Bill gets to decide what innovation makes it to the marketplace in the first place? It'd be ok if he killed some of Microsoft's "innovations" sometime, but everybody else's? That's the postmodern "free market economy" for you, I guess, where it's a communist conspiracy to give away software, unless it's Microsoft in the lead, setting the market price to zero if it's necessary for some "air supply" operation or other.

Cheers, Dan.

Well, its over. The American People have spoken, this suit must be stopped. I recommend an investigation immediately of the judge that oversees this, along with intensive investigation of the prosecutors.
Its obvious that this is a vast underground conspiricy. To paraphrase the Democrats on the Judicial Commitee " The government just doesn't get it. The American people just want this all behind them. Anyone that stands in their way will suffer." ITS THE POLLS STUPID!
(Actually its the 401K's.)

Unfortunately for MSFT or perhaps the others, although the above works in a political environment, this is a legal one. No one gets elected every 2 years, so they don't have to listen to the public. I wish we could work that way in other areas if you know what I mean.

I also found it fascinating that Gates used a lot of the Clinton defense tactics. When asked about details, his response was something like " The first time I heard of that was when I read about it in the WSJ" or " I have no recollection of that." Too bad Gates can't bite his lower lip like Bill.
