Ebay is having new hardware problems this morning. *** Falling back to the ES6500 *** We are having some inexplicable problems which could be caused by hardware. We aren't going to try and solve it now, but instead fall back to the ES6500. We expect to be back up by 10:00 PST. All Auctions ending between 00:00 02/07/99 and 15:00 02/07/99 will/have been extended by 24 hours. User: aw@ebay.com (101) Date: 02/07/99 Time: 08:04:28 PST *** Server Resets *** We got a little overenthusiastic there, and started a hot backup, auction extensions, and mirroring the volumes all at once. This is causing server resets, and we're stopping some things now. User: aw@ebay.com (101) Date: 02/07/99 Time: 07:52:28 PST *** Upgrade *** We went over 1 hour and 45 minutes on our scheduled outage to move over to our new Starfire Server. We were actually UP at 0400, but then a device crashed on us, and made a mess of things. The good news is that we're up on the Starfire. All Auctions Ending between 00:00 02/07/99 and 09:00 02/07/99 have been extended 24 hours since we went over our alloted time. This is a special exception to the Auction Extension policy. User: aw@ebay.com (101) Date: 02/06/99 Time: 11:58:37 PST *** SCHEDULED OUTAGE REMINDER - SUNDAY 02/07/99 *** We will have a scheduled outage SUNDAY MORNING from 0000 PST to 0600 PST. This time is for the installation of a new Sun Starfire server, with more than twice the CPU power of our existing server. All auctions ending during the outage, which will probably be less than 6 hours, will be extended by ONE DAY as a special one-time extension. There will be a short outage on Monday morning beginning at 01:00 PST for approximately 45 minutes, but we will NOT have our normally scheduled 4 hour outage.
