I do not. This technology was described to me by a friend who worked at a cellphone company (now defunct) about 2 years ago when they were working on packet data. He told me that the "kill" zones were preprogrammed, but the Lo-Jack type scenario also seems likely.

I saw an article a couple of months ago about a consortium being formed to address standards for these automotive devices. I think Toyota was a lead participant. May be some info at toyota.com
