Re: "I'm curious as to what exactly you would have liked AMD to demonstrate the K7 doing. Which raises the question--what was the Katmai-Camino-Rambus demo "at blinding speed" all about? I bet Intel just had the system running Windows 98, period."

I would have liked to see the K7 doing something more related to the market it is intended to sell into. My expectations however are not great at this point, as I have stated in the past. Perhaps some simple estimates of SPEC numbers would suffice.

What was the Intel-Camino-Rambus all about? I don't know for sure but word down by the pool is that it was pretty exciting. "Pretty exciting" compares to the "Compelling" used to describe the K7. I'm looking for something a little less vague... As for Rambus as an investment, this is the first real live demo. Much like the K7, from an x86 system level, Rambus has been just a set of foils too. Rambus now has real live systems to run on. It looks like time for investors to take this technology seriously. I am taking a very serious look at it and at some point soon I will take a position. I am trying to decide between an equity and an options position, or both.
