Barnes & Noble plans a major offensive to become the largest on-line book and media store within the next four years. The combination of virtical integration and cost reductions made posible by the recent Ingram acqusition and deal with Bertelsmann plus new deals with AOL, Lycos, etc. and a soon to be announced deal with MSN will lock out AMZN from potential expansion in key portal locations. Much more came out during today's conference call and is in the works. I'll post stuff strung out over the next few posts.
