Russ - Re: " I really doubt that DreamWorks/SKG is using Intel based machines for ANY animation. "

Check out DreasmworksSKG Animation's Web SIte.

Windows NT doesn't run on SUN workstations and they run WIndows NT and Unix (Sun/Intel) in a mixed environment.

Re: Sabre - what do you think all the client machines are?

Answer - Intel-based.

Re: Salomon -

Take a look at Salomon's trading floor - they have newer, faster Intel-based machines as well as the slower Sun workstations.

Sun Microsystems has done well in Servers and Solaris software but their WorkstationHardware hasn't kept up in years.

Russ, that was his wish list, which he came-up with while masterbating in front of an Intel logo. -g-

Hi Russ,

>> Pixar has a render farm of Sun boxes, and I think that is fairly standard. <<

I was under impression Pixar used Silicon Graphics machines exclusively. At least enough to have affected SGI stock price. Do you have more details on the Sun stuff at Pixar?

Thanks,

NI
