OT re Fiber Optics: JT, your healthy skepticism is appreciated re fiber optics, but the service is already in place on my floor and is TREMENDOUS. Risetech is the ISP and provides the service. Check out their website, where you can get Realtime quotes for free through PC Quote as well. The fibre "pipe size" is proprietary, but greater than the starting, secondary, and standard sizes you reference, and can be adjusted per need of client. I will save modem cost ($40 per month) and AOL provider cost ($20) per month, so the net cost will be about -0- for a vastly improved service.
