Hi Brad ..It's me - "the cable modem @Home user from Vancouver" - very baffling today. At 5:45Am PST, the service was pitiful, but now, it's lightning again. Usually, it would be the other way around.

Again, if there are any @Home users out there that are having troubles, try disabling the Proxy server. When I did that, most of my problems vanished - except for the odd day that it bogs down, but I think that must be another problem.

Brad,

Very long load on go2net.com also. I didn't wait to see if it would finish or time out. If I can figure out the IP address I'm coming from I'll email it to you ASAP.

Souze

Brad,

It is not just the Netcom users who are experiencing problems accessing SI. I'm accessing through a dedicated T1 right into the WinStar backbone, and I've been having problems for months.

For some reason, access to SI was extremely fast last week. It was a remarkable change. Then, come Monday 11/16, we were back to slow access. Not as excruciatingly slow as in the past, but not very fast either.

I too have taken to reading the Yahoo message board more regularly, because the speed of access to that thread is now many times faster than access to SI. I agree with another poster that, if things don't change, you are going to start losing accounts.

Adding my voice to those of others reporting relief from last week's access glitch: my SI response is back to normal. It feels great.

Can SI share with us what the underlying problem was?

TIA,

Souze

Humbly report, Brad, from where I sit, talk.techstocks.com and siliconinvestor.com have been unresponsive for hours, yet exchange2000.com works just fine.

Also, what's with the four cookies I have to refuse when accessing techstocks.com ???

Oh, and what's the deal on the new Coffee Shop folks - #reply-6539716 ?

Cheers,

Svejk
