WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1998--Teachers from around the country can now take courses at The George Washington University without leaving home through a new AT&T initiative called the AT&T Learning Network Virtual Academy.

Today's announcement is being made at the Potomac Regional Education Partnership (PREP) conference at The George Washington University. PREP is a collaboration of Washington-area colleges, K-12 school systems, businesses, non-profit organizations and governments.

The AT&T Learning Network Virtual Academy is an online centralized resource that provides teachers and educators with access to web-based professional development opportunities and courses. At the AT&T Learning Network Virtual Academy web site (www.att.com/learningnetwork), teachers have convenient access to course-provider sites where they can review course descriptions and apply or register for certificates programs, Continuing Education Units(CEU's), college courses and degree programs.
