From where do the suckers get the money?

From credit cards and margin accounts. And all they have to do is push the price on the next marginal share bought, which builds equity in the core holdings, which generates more buying power .... Ponzi I think it is called.

From where do the suckers get the money?

Multiple choice:

1. Alan the printer
2. Lack of selling rather than buying.
3. Some of these things really do fail the smell test. Especially the recent ipo's like ebay. Run ups occurred before shorting was permitted (i.e. in the first month). With no shorting, no options listing. Then the stocks trade 3-4 times their entire market float per day. So what is happening? Remember the S&L crisis?
(an earlier "worst financial crisis in 50 years") There were land deals that were assembly line ponzi schemes. A bought the land for 20k sold to B for 50k. Five minutes later sold to C for 100k. Two minutes later sold back to A for 350k. Then A got a false appraisal (a joe batsinthebelfry type) and got a loan for 450k. Walked off with the 450k and never saw the property again, the S&L (read that now as "the public" or "mutual funds") was left holding the bag.
4. Psychology of paralysis by bears.
