BTW, how effective were you as the "interface mgr on the SGI Oracle implementation" if you don't understand their business? Charles, it is not a requirement for me to understand the pricing or positioning of say, SGIs R10,000 server line vs. the competition in order to implement a logistics package to save money on distribution and shipping of the product. All I need to know is how much it weighs, how much it costs to ship it. Same thing with revenue recognition. I dont need to know if the product that SGI builds is competitive to know how to optimally recognize revenue on the product. I assume most people understand this.
