Hi Marcie, Not a problem. The bulkheads are holding even thought we shipped a lot of water. Pumps are running and we've brought "her" up 83% from the low water mark. I'm just hoping for some smooth sailing in '99.

I never try to outguess the market heading into Dec. It could be an ugly tax selling time, or maybe not. Gains earlier this year weren't so great that it should be as heavy as other years, but my hindsight is much better than my foresight! I'm just looking forward to getting the new year started. I'll be content to break even for the entire '98 year. Uncle Sam will get a nice check from me either way.

Best regards, Tom

Marcie, VLSI closed today at 11 17/32 - not too far off its high for the day - higher than at any time since August 24. The week prior to Aug 24 (the 24th was a Monday), VLSI was trading between 12 and 14. It seemed to me today that there were two buying spikes - one at the open and one in the mid-afternoon - and unlike some recent days, it didn't give back all the gains... Bodes good, I think for thee and me.
