I had posted some other thoughts on the subject last Thursday when I thought I had to make a decision before Friday night. Ended up recommending to relatives with 100 shares that they take the basket to avoid commission costs down the road. Another consideration of course is your strategy. My relatives are long termers, but still seemed tha basket would be a better move for them in that they had no interest in watching daily and putting the time in required to stay on top of all 12 companies.
