Hey, it doesn't matter... up or down. It's all the same: gain or loss. As long as you watch or use stops, it doesn't matter. The only pain is that it is difficult to start a short due to the uptick rule.

BTW, people need to know that Stop-Limits can be skipped over and Stop-Loss becomes a market order and can kill you with the spread. It's best to watch the position and react accordingly, using the stop orders as insurance.

i wouldn't short ebay yhoo or amzn. little down but way up. maybe if short interest goes down for a month +. too much support on any downturn. good luck on your next short.
