Some analyist a few weeks ago, I don't remmember who, gave a target price for merck of 165 for 12 months. I hope they annouce a split at 160 or so driving the price up more. I've owned this since 92 and will not sell until the company falters if ever. A split will bring in more investors and triple our money again in a few years.

Yes, generally that is how it's done. However, they aren't going to put it to a special vote -- it's too expensive to prepare the materials, mailings, etc. So the timing, it seems to me, is obviously going to be closer to the annual meeting where it can be acted on in the regular course of business.
