Candlestick alert

Remember a little while back when I said the chart looked bad at $68 and we proceeded down to $58?

Well, Rambus just formed what's called a "dark cloud cover". This is where the stock opens up and closes more than 1/2 way down the previous day's candle body.

Very bearish. You heard it here folks. Be careful out there.

Just a Sunday am fantasy:

Re: "The thing we want to make clear today is that we've hit all of the milestones that we discussed [two years ago]," said Pete MacWilliams, an Intel fellow and director of platform architecture for Intel (Santa Clara, Calif.). "We said we'd have a working PC platform by the end of 1998, and we have that today."

Upwards of seven DRAM makers will have the 800-MHz Direct RDRAM chips in volume production in the first quarter of 1999, with another couple of module makers lending their support, MacWilliams said.

I can almost hear Joe Kernan now in the hour or two before RMBS reports 1Q99 earnings....."The market reaction to the anticipated earnings report from Rambus after the close today has been nothing short of astounding. The stock has run up in the last several weeks and months in anticipation of the first earnings report which will reflect royalty payments which will start rolling in from the many licensees who are already into volume production . Estimates of earnings have been all over the map but based on the previous strong reports from the big players, the numbers for Rambus could surprise everybody on the upside - at least that's what the market seems to be saying today."
