<Now one thing I recently bought for my wife was Mikimoto Pearls. Those I had to see
the real thing, no internet buying there. >

My sentiments exactly. Glenn, how is your line of these?

I think the browsers will eventually make it easy to just type BestBuy.com and poof you go to their web site.

"eventually"??? I did just that right now, and my IE version is 3.0. I also have Netscape, fairly recent version. Any company which has a domain name (anything ending with .com), you can just type in the name, including the .com, .org, .edu, .gov., etc. The http:// fills in automatically by the browser.

My point is that Yhoo and AMZN are going to have to compete with the mainstream stores who are going on the internet.

I'm very much in agreement. Not only that, but Yhoo itself isn't actually dealing in the goods, and therefore are not "profit-sharing" partners. They are taking a very small % of the sales price, a commission if you will. Very similar if not identical to the fee-based system that ebay uses.
