Thursday November 19, 5:48 pm Eastern Time AFTER THE BELL - Lycos falls NEW YORK, Nov. 19 (Reuters) - Shares in Lycos Inc. dipped down in after-hours trade Thursday after reporting a first quarter loss compared with profit a year ago. Lycos was down at 59-1/2 on the Instinet electronic trading system from the closing price of 62. That continued the Internet service provider's slide downward, which began in the regular trading session Thursday afternoon. Lycos was down 4-7/8 for the day from Wednesday's close of 64-3/8. The New York Stock Exchange said after hours session one volume on Thursday was 1,688,800 compared with 1,514,200 Wednesday. Session two volume was 13,470,900, versus 588,918 on Wednesday.

i hate to say this...but you should have seen the utter chaos on the aol thread about their split. people (especially internut investors? they are people aren't they?) don't have a clue about splits. there were people that were advising not to buy until the split was finalized because you would be paying double for the stock! (now that would help you out) Some of the little guy buying though will probably be delayed until the actual split. (also gives hope)
