Some thoughts on K6-2 400 availability on Pricewatch
I noticed that the 366mhz will be available as of 23 Nov .
However there are lots of HP K6-2 366mhz that have been in local stores for a few weeks now . This indicates that the OEMs are getting their large orders filled before any become available on the open market . It is therefore not surprising that the 400mhz is still not available on pricewatch ,
Brian
PS re. K7 without add on 3D cards . I believe the answer is that on PII and K6-2 demos the 3D card supplies the initial image and the CPU renders motion and texture adjustments to that image by sending the changing data to the 3D card . K7 doing both functions indicates a speed increase of at least 2x possibly much more , IMHO .

Earnings Estimate for Q4 :-
Assuming the following figures , 5.2M K6-2 shipped at an ASP of $110
with $320M revenue in the rest of their business (+10%) and a break even revenue figure of $760M .plus a 30% tax bracket .
This would produce :-
K6-2 revenue = $572M
other revenues = $320M
Total = $892M
less $760M = $132M
before tax per sh. = $94 cents
after tax per sh. = $66 cents

PS this would explain the action of this stock in the last6 weeks

With the potential growth of both ASPs and volume in '99
coupled with the present market mania where stocks like those internet
companies and Dell sell at ridiculous multiples , then this could easily produce a stock price north of $66 in very short order .
good investing to all , including our Intel visitors .
