CBC Newsworld asked another interviewee (Laura Wallace? of ??)who indicated that the NN and NNC buying strength came out of New York on rumours that LU was making a play for NN.

What, we have more than one rumor going the rounds???? Tell the guys who start them to stand in line --- leave a little breathing room. :)

The heavy volume starting yesterday was on the TSE until later in the day when NYSE took over the leadership. Laura must have been asked a question and looked at her current screen for an answer. Means nothing.

Good volume and good price movement is probably nothing more than a relatively beaten down stock (compared to Ascend or Lucent) getting some attention in the pre-earnings announcement run-up. Buy on rumour is standard. Enjoy, I know I am.
