Pretender - Re: " No design is "the holy grail", do you expect INTC to buy HP in the near future? "

No.

This is where Intel shows it is infinitely smarter than AMD.

AMD had to spend $600,000,000 to $800,000,000 to BUY NexGEN to get the K6 design - a sizeable amount of money.

Meanwhile, Intel will be getting the McKinley design for FREE - they DON'T HAVE TO BUY HP !

Think of it this way, Pretender - Intel just saved $800,000,000 !

Actually, Intel is heavily involved with the HP McKinley design and has a design group in Fort Collins that it is currently expanding.
