"Intuit reportedly wooing Quote.com"

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- "...Financial software maker Intuit Inc. is in talks to buy Quote.com, according to a Wall Street Journal report Thursday.

Both Intuit (INTU) and Ouote.com have remained tightlipped about any possible transaction. People familiar with the situation say a deal could come as soon as next week.

Quote.com, which provides live stock-quote information, is viewed as a good match for Intuit, due to Quote.com's technical tools and audience. The union could also give Ouote.com an edge in a market where competition is becoming fierce..."
