AMd has introduced the K6 and K6-2 since 1995.

That's 2 chips (actually 1 chip plus some new instructions) in three years.

That may be OK.

Nut the Sharpy chip is late and that doesn't reflect well on AMD.

WH are you talking about. INTC hasn't released any new designs since '95, only new names, minor configuration changes, etc.
