jgideon,

<but DIMD shows that all is not well in peripheral land. >

How much of DIMD's woe's do you suppose are being caused by CREAF's successes??

<Let's hope the buyback adds the soothing predictability that has been missing.>

Yes, let's hope.

Another thing to keep in mind is the general conditions in Asia. If they start to improve in 1999 this should give CREAF a big boost for two reasons. First, CREAF's overall sales will go up. Second, (and although less direct, equally if not more important) is the fact that CREAF was hurt disproportionally, IMO, because of its association with Asia. Although most of CREAF's earnings still come from the US and Europe, a constant drubbing of bad news/press from Asia does not exactly get people excited about investing in a Singapore company. If/when signs of a true bottom in Asia are seen, investment dollars will begin to pour back into AP funds and stocks. I would think CREAF, one of the more successful companies in Asia, would be high on people's lists.

So, along with the buyback, earnings momentum, dividend, new products, Christmas sales, strong PC sales, we also have the possibility that investments in Asia may come back into favor sooner rather than later.

Good luck to all,

FF

It seems crazy to set one's sights so low,
but a forward PE of 15 would be great from
this point (around $27.50).

jg, Could you please recalculate that price? I need an additional $0.50 to reach my purchase price. <GGG>
