Hmmm . . . that is as close to a iiii(you know) letter that I have gotten in a long time, Duncan. How are you, anyway? I have not been here a lot lately, but I did read about Mattel not doing quite so well, and thought of you. Speaking of feelings, are you taking proper care of the sensual part of your life? I know you are a whiz with red meat of all sorts, but what about the rest of your senses? Are you filling your home with the right smells? I read a fascinating article today about how some British scientists have done a research study where they found that happy thoughts and pleasant smells can boost health, while bad thoughts and smells have the reverse effect. It was all based on measuring what effect each experience, pleasant and unpleasant, had on the production of the antibody immunoglobulin (sIgA), which is found in saliva and protects against respiratory infections, and was led by David Warburton, a professor at Reading University. One of the things I really love about the holiday season, in fact, is burning all the fragrances the three wise men carried on their way to Bethlehem. The study certainly gives the theory of aromatherapy a boost, doesn't it? I tried to find the original article and could not, but I did find something fascinating about how a new way has been found to dye jeans blue the way medieval people made indigo dye. I'm not sure you are interested in this, but maybe someone will be:news.bbc.co.uk Happy Thanksgiving, Duncan! I bet you are getting out the cloves and pineapple as we speak, to garnish your wonderful Costco ham. There is also a glaze that comes in a jar that some people swear by, especially men who are always looking for cooking shortcuts, but never having used it, I have forgotten what it is called. Bon appetit, anyway!
