I have seen them do that in the past. (IBM)

Also saw Dean Witter change their bond/CD inventory practices (to their benefit) in 1995 right at the peak in yields (when I worked for them).

Of course none of the sales force was told that it was the peak.

Come to think of it, they spent a lot of time and energy telling their brokers that yields were going under 5%, when they bottomed at 5 7/8% in 1993.

I guess what I'm saying is that there does seem to be knowledge of these things at high levels that doesn't get shared with the public.

Even customers.

Why is that???
