When a company is pushing to settle a law suit. It puts a clear sign for sale. I am inclined to believe a take over rumor rather than to take Cal's explanation of clearing way for OEM contracts.

Cisco (at 73) or Lucent (at 88) might fit. IBM (at 156) would be nice at a 1:10 exchange... rumors, rumors.

Larry, I think that the rumored buyout price was a bit higher, in the 6-8 range; a double would then be 12-14. Such a double would place Ancor's sale price in the $250 million range, a price which is in line with many Cisco acquisitions.
