Hello Ice, I learned a long time ago not to go directly short, I
got nailed real bad years ago when I shorted Caesars Palace at 28
because I went to Vegas and business was horrible. It dropped to 18
and I thought I was a genius, I even thought it would go broke. Then
it turned upwards when I was on my way home from Vegas. I called the
broker and he said it was up about 2 points, I said," Dont worry it
is just a dead man bounce>" The next day I went to the brokerage
office and it was already up about 6 more when they stopped trading.
It opened up at 32 on the news it was going into Atlantic city and
had a glowing story of course. I always wondered what idiot would
pay 47 dollars for stock like that.....I found out when I looked in
the mirror... I closed out that day with a 40 grand loss.
Now I only short when I have a protective underlying option, that
way there can be no surprises I cant handle. I own the 130 puts for
Dec on Amzn and if it gets near that price I will probable go long for
a free ride up....Gil
