Shoprting penny stocks is illegal for a very good reason...

This is one of the more common SI myths. Shorting penny stocks is NOT "illegal". It is difficult for the small investor to do. Most brokerages don't want to mess with it because it's a pain for them. But Auric's explained more than once how to go about it. You need a large account and must be willing to meet very considerable margin requirements, but it's by no means against the law.
