Jane From briefing.com this morning. briefing.com Lycos Inc. (LCOS) sold-off 2 3/8 pts ahead of its Q1 report. The company does not have a history of posting big upside surprises, and didn't break from tradition this time. For the qtr, LCOS reported a loss of $0.06 a share, which was a penny narrower than the Zacks mean estimate. Revenues rose $24.8 mln, up 167% yr/yr and 30% sequentially.... Investors following the Internet IPO market will be pleased to know that Merrill Lynch has tentatively placed the offering of Internet auction house, uBid (UBID), on the calendar for November 30.
