Thanks, Merritt. Very farsighted of them, and I am sure it will pay off. Interesting timing, I was just lurking on the George Gilder thread, following a debate about the cost of stringing fiber optic cable to existing structures. Frank A. Coluccio estimated it would cost $500 per structure:

I was just thinking about the fact that I already have a nice, fat pipe coming into my house, coaxial cable, so I don't really feel motivated to pay for fiber optic, thank you. But I AM long QWST, and looking for others.
