I believe the downgrade is well timed. It will weed out the unrequired investors and leave ones that are long term. That in turn will help stabilise the price into a more predictable pattern.

Re:splits, well I was of an opinion that they had to split once AMZN did. I felt they couldn't afford not to. After a heated discussion on the bulletin board, I now understand that a split may be detrimental for long term stability of YHOO. Once again, absence of split will ensure speculators to move away, it will also peg the expanding mkt capitalisation.

As a speculator, I'd like to quickly ride up the wave, but as a long term investor in YHOO, it would be prudent to pause and take stock (pun intended) and let the fundamentals catch up a bit. Of course I don't plan to wait for very long, but YHOO has never known to disappoint !!
