Jonathan: Its all in the execution of course... We are all cheering, but as you wisely pointed out, the benefits will come only if they execute quickly, correctly and efficiently. Much easier said than done. I didn't know that they taught strategic stuff like that at IBM <ggg>... With regards to the board, I don't view it as a negative. Strategically, the two co's an excellent fit. What products they discard and which they integrate will be key, along with the execution of such integration(s) by marketing, sales and engineering. Only time will tell. IMO, this is about the only thing SFAM could have done as an independent co. to effectively counter AMAT's move on CMP. BTW, when did you leave the music industry? I remember seeing you (double) in concert in 1973 <ggg>. BP
