Are there really technical difficulties stopping the deployment of adsl or is it that the rboc culture is to slow footed?

The RBOCs are just slow footed IMHO. They can't figure out how to allow an inexpensive 1.5 Mbps transport without cutting into their T1 revenues. In the meantime, the competition marches along, eating the Telco's lunch along the way.

I had assumed that the RBOCs would get it together earlier this year, they certainly had all the info to make the right decision. But instead they have allowed the cable guys to get both mindshare and real market presence. GTE is the only one with any sense.
