Tip, Once again, I agree with most of their evidence but not with the sweeping grandeur of their conclusions. First, though, they seem to be making two different and opposed points. How can the rise in the US market be due to professionals buying the S&P and selling the DAX in position unwindes and ALSO be due solely to unsophisticated investors buying US stocks on momentum. That doesn't compute.

German stocks have still way outperformed US stocks this year. I can't see where a minor correction in the DAX is all that indicative of anything after the year we've had in that index.

The comments that easy money had nothing to do with the rise is ludicrous. Where do these sophisticated investors get the credit to make these DAX/S&P swaps? From an easy Fed.

So, I appreciate the concepts but I don't buy them whole hog.
