Hi Chap.

hope you have a minute. i really need an explanation on a comment
you made yesterday. i lurk.

you came to a conclusion i thought was brilliant...Bezos timing the
announcement of the split, and the split itself around possible
short squeezes for November and December.

today's action is clear.
but i'm having trouble understanding a possible short squeeze
for December expiry. i am under the impression that the split
will not actually take place (x-date) until January 4th.
December 18th is the record date, as well as the day the December
options expire, but what affect could that have on the shorts ?

i guess my problem is i'm not clear at all on what the "record date"
means...since i can buy the stock right up until January 3rd and still participate in the split.

can you explain ?

thanks for your time.
Jerry
