rich, the only prediction i trust is mine. i could claim to be a genius b/c i called the current dram glut back in 1997 when tom kurlack and company were saying micron was in "the best of all situations." mu was $60 and i was told i was wasting bandwidth b/c clearly dram was zooming and mu would make $3.00 - $4.00 in 1998. pssst - they left off the "-" sign ;-) mu hit the low $20s with a few months and i was then accused of "looking backwards." ;-)

however, i'm only equal with the "dram sucks" monkey ;-) i have to call a bottom. there is still a lot of idle capacity - i hear a lot of idle korean dram capacity has been switched on and should hit the market within 1 month - and i see massive capacity increases in 1999.
i think a turn happens within 2-3 (leaning toward 3) years also. but not 2-3 months like the market is currently saying.
