At least with my satellite provider, that's how it works. Also there is no 2-way, so you also need a separate ground link and the satellite only provides download. I think the satellite guys are about to lose big time in this game.

Check out www.direcpc.com. They have a 'combo' service called 'DirecDuo' that will get you both TV and internet. It uses a slightly larger elliptical dish (21"). As Rudedog stated, you will also need an internet provider (which they can supply as part of the package), since it is a one way service. Not cheap, but cheaper than it used to be. If you need a big chunk of time it will be well north of 100 bucks a month...
