Walter,

CompactFlash has already featured 48 MB cards and now 64 MB and above are becoming available. MMC will be available in 32 MB capacity next year. SanDisk's fab will also be upgrading to 0.18 microns and storage will go even higher. Thus, 40 MB of storage was more impressive when CF was available in only 2, 4, and 8 MB capacities.

The CF II standard (required for the MicroDrive and up coming telecom appliances)will also push flash memory sales along. I wonder if Clik! can fit in a type II slot?

All told, I think Clik! has some solid (state) competition and the proof will be upcoming design-ins. The Iomega site, for example, shows a PalmPilot on the Clik! page. Is this currently available?
