Tim, I carefully copied the data from Merrill Lynch, so I trust that you are not implying that I am in any way "off base." Further, because the historical numbers are public record, no bias can be inferred from them. They are audited by an independent CPA, and sent to the SEC, for goodness' sake!

I gather that you have a quarrel with the projected earnings. I am sure that you are aware that most investors are concerned with a concept called "earnings per share," although apparently not all.<g>

I have before me Merrill's report on Intel, it also includes projected 1999 earnings per share of $4.15 from First Call, an independent company. That is, of course, almost 18% higher year over year from 1998's, and nice growth.

I also have before me S&P's projected earnings per share for 1999, of $4.25, even higher.

None of them, however, come close to your projection, unless I misunderstood your post.
