Hi JB, I think my original starting point was $9-1/2 with 1000 shares in August of '96. I sold a few shares as the price rose to $14 and reduced my holding to 800 shares. Next cycle I got to 1100 shares when the price descended to $10 and then sold off shares (to 800) on the next rise to $13-3/8. That was early 1997. My account was back to 1100 shares when the price retreated to $10 AGAIN. Then back to 900 shares with the price at $13-5/8. This looked like it was going to become habit forming! In June of '97 the account was back to 1100 shares with the price back to $10-1/8, sold 100 off at $13-1/8, then bought them back again at $9-7/8 in Oct. I added 200 shares at $9-1/4 to make 1300, in Dec. and sold the position back down to 1000 shares by Feb.'98 at a price of $15-3/4. In April I started adding back shares, this time at $11-5/8. That's just about when the S*** hit the fan for the first time. By the end of May, I was up to 1700 shares with the price down to $8-3/4. June saw my holdings rise to 2400 shares as the price continued to drop to $6-7/8. July saw the share total rise to 2900 as the price descended further to 5-11/16. Then in early Sept. I bought again bringing the total number of shares to 3700 when the price dropped to $4-13/16. Mid Sept brought on a price of $4-7/16 and I bought one more time adding 1000 shares more to the pile! Recently I sold off my first 200 shares at $6-3/8 (last week of October) and then got a chance to sell 300 more at $6-7/8 the first week of Nov. PHEW!! Can you imagine this sort of thing back in the days of Full Service Broker Commissions?? In any case, I still have 4200 shares in the account, am now break-even and ready to continue selling as the price rises. I'll just be parting out small pieces of the total as the price rises. I, too, have been waiting for something to turn this company's fortunes around. With the number of shares I now have, it could be quite pleasant! It's still not a huge investment, but this is the way my largest holdings got to be large! I've been using the same basic business plan for all of my equities for nearly 11 years. It's saved my butt many times. As you can see, I'm not exactly Buy&Hold, but also not a short term "trader" in that I've had at least some position in IDTI since Aug. of 1996. This method seems to fall somewhere in between. Gad, this note's nearly as long as the independent council's report on clinton!!! (but more interesting!) When (IF?) IDTI returns to $9-1/2, my starting price, I should have a profit of nearly 50%. Best regards, Tom
