browser, perhaps my statement was over broad. I made it based on my experience with AOL users. I have subscribed to AOL for about 3 years, but now use it for occassional chat with friends, sports, and back-up internet access. I access the internet directly via cable modem using Roadrunner. I believe that Yahoo does offer direct internet service for a monthly fee, which would eliminate the need for AOL. Additionally, the Yahoo model offers most of the services of AOL and, i feel, has the best investing sector for general use. I do feel, that of the 14 million AOL subscribers, a vast majority use AOL for email, chat, news, and their gateway to the internet. AOL's main attraction is its ubiquitness and each of use. It is a great service, and in fact, i bought some AOL on friday in my long term accoutn. best of luck, and perhaps you'd care to share some thoughts on stocks that you find attractive. thanks. larry
