I ain't the only one with the X blues. Many a programmer has said nasty things about X. It would way easier to program if it were updated to client server architecture. You should read what Denis Ritchie has to say about the precious C language and C++ and the X environment. If X were so all fired good why would the Berlin and Gnome projects be alive? Why would Netscape crash at all. It does not crash at all in Windows. Of course 4.07 is as slow as a Lorus in Windows. I quit using it because of that.

Should be good for a chuckle or two.

Re: "I use the XFree86 server, but I've never had a problem with my Matrox cards (Millenium or Mystique). I've also had no problems with my ATI card, but I haven't used it enough to give it a good review. Perhaps you just have a problem with either your hardware or configuration that is causing your disillusionment with the X architecture."

I have a Millenium II card and would like to run at 1600x1200 or even 1800x1440. My monitor supports these resolutions, but the setup from the Red Hat distribution only supports 1280x1024. Any advice?
