Dan,

"My belief is a real reliance on the sacrifice the Lamb of God made for me. Not anything I have done, so there is a VERY real difference in what we believe. Many people refuse that, cause of pride. They would rather say "ego" has to be dealt with within, when actually Jesus PAID IT ALL. I can say "Yes Judge I am guilty.... but look, I have One Whom has already paid the debt...so now I am free." That is too much for some folks to want to believe, They wanna save themselves and it can't be done"

Usually sacrifices are made to a God. For some who would remain unchanged, it is the God of Ego and Sin. If you have set the pride aside, then you are not the God of Ego and Sin. This change in perception within yourself IS the saving of yourself. If you have done so, you have replaced the God of Ego and Sin, with the God of God. We are both talking about changes of perception. If I understand what you say here correctly, I hear that God provided for you to be saved, but you made the final step, and saved yourself. If you are now of God, and not of Sin and Ego, then to be prideful that you have made this final move to save yourself is not to be prideful of Paul, who believed in Sin, but to believe in the Soul, or Christos, which is of God. Do you see the distinction? Proud of a soul remade in the image of God. Why would we not be proud of God and his works?

Mark is right, we are not that far apart after all.

Peace,
Darrin
