'We hope the Federal Reserve, the protector of our financial system, is enjoying the
party. Today Amazon.com gained 27 points after announcing a stock split, bringing its
gain for the week to 53 points. For the week, Yahoo surged 23 points, eBay 23, and
America Online, after a two-for-one split, rose 15. The internet index gained another
14% as this index now trades at a truly mindboggling 160% above the stock market lows
of October 8th. With the Fed in an extraordinary accommodative posture, the
marketplace has now regressed into one of, if not the greatest, speculative manias of
all-time. It is truly out of control.'
