OT...Southern Illinois University

Lots of Salukis in the Dell house!!

TL, I second your thoughts. I live in San Diego, probably the most beautiful city in the US and I still have a piece of my heart back in good ol' Carbondale IL. The Shawnee National Forest, Little Grand Canyon, Giant City and Garden of the Gods. All beautiful sites in this scenic area.

Go DELL!!

Stu

OT: Terrific invitation, Tim! I grew up in Arizona: Nogales, Superior [mining town] and Phoenix. Spent some summers in Michigan fishing for crappie, we called them speckled bass.

I used to walk across Phoenix to the state fairgrounds on 17th Ave from 16th St, way the other side of town then. Now Ph is millions and the cacti are mostly in front of hotels. Made lamps from the cholla skeletons. No one had AC then, and I've never been hot since.

Best fishin I ever did was in Yellowstone river above the falls, caught 20" cuthroats with flies I picked off the trees. Hitchiked there from Ariz, 3,000 mile RT, Mt Rushmore, Zion, Tetons, Snake River, etc.

Northern Cal is beauty country but crowded for my taste; I expect southern Illinois was more bucolic, has nice seasonal changes too. I think southern Utah - N. Ariz [Grand Staircase country] is God Showing Off. To my preference the West is the best. And here I am in Georgia, beautiful & gracious but not the same.

I'm listing fishing with you and Arthur as definitely something I want to do, Tim. Let's see what God permits!

Bless you, both, Gentlemen!

Don

America the Beautiful, God shed his grace on thee!

TL and arthur and N Cal fish people...... oh I agree.... theres nothing more exciting and exhilirating than catching that fish at the local safeway.... reach into the freezer and..... got him! He tries to get away, but its kinda hard in that plastic coating hes wearing <ggg>

Anyway I love to cook fresh fish and in fact today saw a show on PBS where the fish was sauteed in white wine and covered with zucchini sliced thinly and patterned over the fish in a scale pattern, then cook in the oven for an additional 15 mins. Also a light tomato sauce, yummy.
